When one speaks of well-being, security, and balm for the soul in the Hunsrück, one chooses the term “Gehaichnis.” The Landidyll Hotel Birkenhof is such a Gehaichnis place.
Here you can indulge in a country idyllic breath of fresh air or experience an almost limitless activity program in the original landscape of the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Park.

Surrounded by gently rolling hills and idyllic mid-mountain villages with lovingly restored half-timbered houses, Christian Dietrich takes care of his guests with great passion. He is happy to present good wines from the nearby wine regions that surround the Hunsrück: Rhine, Moselle, Nahe, and Saar.

Wonderful excursion destinations that can be reached from the Birkenhof in just 15 - 45 minutes of travel time. For example, Oberwesel, the city of towers and wine with the famous Loreley on the “Romantic Rhine” and its medieval castles, Senheim on the Moselle, where you can hike through the Senheimer Lay, or the spa town of Bad Kreuznach. From there, several wine trails and the Nahe wine can be explored.

Natural beauties await right outside the door, such as the gorge-like valley of the Baybach around Waldeck Castle, as well as the Balduins, Lützbach, and Ehrbach valleys. Quiet cycling, hiking, and long-distance hiking trails wind through the beautiful landscape, such as the Saar-Hunsrück Trail, the Soonwald Trail, the Hunsrück High Trail, and the Dream Loop Saar-Hunsrück.

The Dream Loop “Heimat” was voted the most beautiful hiking trail in 2020. The spectacular Geierlay suspension bridge over the Mörsdorfer Bachtal, the most beautiful suspension bridge in Germany, provides the special thrill for dizzy-free active holidaymakers.
Back at the Birkenhof, a delightful break on the sunny hotel terrace is recommended. Here, hotel guests can relax, enjoy a fruity cocktail or a glass of wine, and let their gaze wander over fragrant lavender bushes, the fruit orchard, and the pastures of the Birkenhof cattle.
For deep relaxation, the modern wellness area “Gehaichnis” with Finnish sauna, bio sauna, and relaxation room is suitable.

Highway 61, exit Laudert towards Kisselbach, Budenbach towards Kastellaun. The Birkenhof is located off the L 218 between Simmern/Hunsrück and Laubach.

Events or reservations for 6 or more people can be canceled free of charge up to 7 days before the reservation,

for later cancellations, we charge a cancellation fee of €40 per reserved person, provided we cannot fill the capacity.

Individual cancellations, including those due to illness (maximum 20% of the specified number of people), can be canceled free of charge up to one day before the reservation,

for cancellations on the same day, we charge a cancellation fee of €40 per person, provided we cannot fill the capacity.

Dear guests, please note that we do not reserve specific tables and reserve the right to place you at an available table corresponding to the group size.

For reservations of 6 or more people, we can no longer issue individual bills, we want to have our time with the guests and pamper you from the heart.

Please understand that billing for groups takes a lot of time and we cannot then give other guests the attention we have given you.
