RuT 2 - Hiking Trail near Mandern

GREENLAND is more than just grass

As part of the water project "Ruwer and its tributaries", a large nature conservation project of the Trier-Saarburg district, which aims to preserve and develop the Ruwer and its tributaries with the floodplains as near-natural water and floodplain landscapes as a guiding goal, this themed hiking trail was created.

On a walking distance of 6 km, you will be impressed by the diversity of species in the meadows of the lower Ruwertal or in the vicinity of the Burkelbach. This could only arise due to the newly created wide, usage-free waterway strip. Here, nature has been given space again through renaturation measures!

You start at the Mühlentalhütte in Mandern or the Schieferberghütte near Waldweiler.
Walking time: About 2.5 hours.
