Visiting the Brown-throated Martin

As part of the water project "Ruwer and its tributaries", a large nature conservation project of the Trier-Saarburg district, which aims to preserve and develop the Ruwer and its tributaries with the floodplains as near-natural water and floodplain landscapes as a guiding goal, this themed hiking trail was created.

On a walking distance of 6.5 km, you will learn a lot about the Brown-throated Martin, which is native to the wet and moist meadows here. The Eselsbach and Bingelbach streams flow through the Greimerath basin, at the lowest point of which is the "Panzbruch". This flat moor has been a nature reserve since 1983.

You start in the town center of Greimerath, at the bridge on Hochwaldstraße / transition to the main road.
