In the Preisbach Valley, 10 minutes before the Ehrbach Valley, stands the Schönecker Steel Spring.
In the cadastral maps, the area is referred to as "Sauerbornberg". No one knows when the healing spring was first discovered. What is certain is,
that the local population has known the spring and its character as a healing source since ancient times, and the sick and weak, especially those with anemia and blood deficiency, have sought relief here.
Until 1912, a family named Liesenfeld residing in Mermuth owned the spring. From them, a company acquired the land and began commercial distribution of the healing water after its healing effects were proven by reports from several specialists. After World War II, only ruins remained here. Years ago, the local community of Ney acquired the land. To preserve the spring, it was restructured and covered as a resting place for hikers.
